Season Refund FAQ's

No physical examination or questionnaire of any kind is required to purchase Sports Refund coverage.

Sports Refund reimburses amateur athletes when illness or injury keeps them from playing their sport. Knowing that they will be compensated for lost playing time, Sports Refund increases the likelihood that all injuries are reported, even those that athletes might rather ignore, reducing long-term health risks.

Sports Refund coverage is effective as soon as it is purchased.

Sports Refund reimburses athletes for the cost of registration fees and any other expenses paid directly to the sports organization.

Unfortunately, Sports Refund cannot cover pre-existing conditions. If, however, an athlete returns to full participation and is re-injured, Sports Refund will cover any further lost playing time.

Simply estimate the total amount of coverage that you would like and we will calculate your rates based on that value.

Provide Sports Refund with your closest estimate of the season’s start date and the end date. Because claims are based on the amount of time lost due to illness or injury, we may verify actual dates prior to paying a claim.

Currently, we limit policies to $10,000 per player per season. If you anticipate requiring even more coverage, please call us at 800-409-4950 and we may be able to help.

Sports Refund will send you a Explanation of Coverage as well as a copy of the Master Policy.

As registration fees for amateur athletics continue to rise, Sports Refund is one of the most cost-effective ways for families to protect their investment in sports programs.

Simply complete a claim form on our website. If you are confident this is a season-ending injury, you can submit right away. If you are hopeful you’ll return this season, submit the claim for time lost when you return to the team.

If you have an unusual circumstance, you can always contact us at support@sportsrefund.com.

Claims calculations are prorated based on the percentage of time lost in the season.

At Sports Refund, we know that athletes want to compete. For those situations where an athlete may – or may not – return to competition before the end of the season, we allow your athlete to play in the championship game or playoffs, even if you have filed a season ending claim. Simply contact us at 800-409-4950 and we can calculate the amount of insurance you will need to return to Sports Refund.

Most policies are written with a fourteen day exclusionary period (the waiting time before a claim can be paid). That means that an athlete who loses five days would NOT be able to file a claim. If your athlete, team, or organization would like to explore policies with shorter exclusionary periods (or no exclusionary periods at all), contact us at 800-409-4950 to discuss.

No. If a player is out for the remainder of the season, you may file a claim immediately. HOWEVER, in the event that the player’s recovery process is faster than expected (or the season extends longer than originally anticipated), overages need to be repaid prior to the player returning to competition.

Sports Refund coverage must comply with the rules and regulations of each state in which it is sold. To ensure compliance with state regulations, we require third-party confirmation of all claims paid.

The Benefit Waiting Period means that if an athlete is unable to compete for 14 or fewer days, they will not be eligible for a refund.

If, however, an athlete is unable to compete for 15 or more days, they will be reimbursed (on a pro-rata basis) for the portion of the season lost due to their injury, accident or illness.  The calculation for the total number of days lost will begin on the first day that they are unable to compete.

No, Sports Refund does not cover shutdowns, whether they are  related to COVID-19 or for another cause.

Though we completely respect the importance of health insurance, Sports Refund is NOT health insurance.

Sports Refund, on the other hand, ensures that in the event of most any illness or injury, you are reimbursed for expenses that you have already paid.

There is no minimum age for which Sports Refund coverage applies.

Travel refund will cover all your other related costs, and out of network doctor visit in case of an emergency.

Camp Refund & Travel Refund FAQ'S

No physical examination or questionnaire of any kind is required to purchase Camp or Travel Refund coverage.

Both Camp Refund and Travel Refund offer a comprehensive  package of benefits. Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption can cover the non-refundable, prepaid costs associated to camps and travel, plus there are a host of other valuable benefits, such as Trip Delay, Baggage, Security Evacuation, Travel Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation.

Trip Cancellation coverage for Camp Refund and Travel Refund policies are effective the day after purchased. All other coverages are effective when the camp or travel actually begins.

Camp Refund and Travel Refund can reimburse cost of prepaid, nonrefundable camp fees and travel expenses, such as airfare, hotels and rental cars in the event the camp or travel has to be cancelled or interrupted for a covered reason.

Trip Delay and Missed connection cover the costs of extra expenses such as hotels and meals if you are delayed during the trip, as well as the cost to catch up with the trip in progress.

Baggage Loss and Delay can reimburse the cost of lost, stolen, or damaged baggage, as well as expenses associated with delayed baggage. The Camp Refund and Travel Refund plans also include coverage for Sporting Equipment at no extra cost.

Security Evacuation can cover expenses incurred if you need to evacuate a country or region due to natural disaster, physical assault, or other covered reasons.

Travel Medical Expense protects you against medical expenses for a sickness or injury that occurs while at the camp or traveling. Emergency Medical Evacuation can pay for the substantial costs involved in an emergency evacuation, even by air ambulance if necessary, to a suitable medical facility.

Both Camp Refund and Travel Refund are intended to cover unforeseeable circumstances, so there would not be coverage for that injury at the time the policy was purchased. However, both plans provide the ability to cover pre-existing medical conditions (such as a heart condition, diabetes, etc) if the policy is purchased prior to final payment for the camp or trip.

You should cover the total cost of all prepaid, non-refundable arrangements, such as camp fees, airfare, hotels, etc.

We are pleased to offer policies with Trip Cancellation and Trip Interuption limits up to $30,000. The other benefits such as Baggage, Trip Delay, Security Evacuation and Travel Medical are all set limits-the same for every policy.

We will send you an email with a Confirmation of coverage and the insurance applicable for your state.

As camp fees and travel costs continue to rise, Camp Refund and Travel Refund are some of the most cost-effective ways for families to protect their camp and travel investments.

You may start your claim by visiting the following link or by calling 855.425.7911 or 380.234.1942. You may also email our claims administrator at claims@battleface.com

Each claim is reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine if the circimstances are covered under the policy terms and conditions. You will receive a full explanation of the claims determination once it’s complete.

The documentation required depends upon the coverage being claimed, and the particular circumstances of the claim. For example, a sickness or injury that occurs before the start of camp, or departure for the travel, would typically require a physician’s statement documenting the situation.

You can purchase a Camp Refund or Travel Refund policy that provides up to $30,000 in Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption benefits. The actual covered amount at claim time depends upon the amount you prepaid, less any refunds received. The other benefits have set limits per policy. Any claim filed must been for a covered reason.

We know this can be a major concern for campers and travelers but if you, a family member or a traveling companion get sick with COVID-19 before or during your trip, it’s treated just like any other illness.

Until further notice, as an accommodation, the following coverages will be extended to include COVID-19 related losses occurring due to sickness, as sickness is defined in the policy.

  1. Travel Medical Expense and Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains benefits if you or a traveling companion require medical treatment or Emergency Evacuation due to COVID-19 related sickness while on a covered trip.
  2. Trip Cancellation, Trip Interuption and Trip Delay benefits if you, a traveling companion or a family member develop COVID-19-related sickness before or during your covered trip and meet the policy requirements for coverage due to sickness.

Camp Refund and Travel Refund don’t cover shutdowns related to COVID-19.

The plans only cover campers and travelers who actually are diagnosed with COVID-19. However, if the camper or traveler is actually diagnosed with sickness due to COVID-19 and required to quarantine, there may be coverage under the policy. There would be no coverage in cases where there is not an actual diagnoses of or sickness due to COVID-19, such as being subject to a stay-at-home order due to possible exposure or a requirement to isolate upon arrival by local health autorites as a precaution.

There is no minimum age to purchase a Camp or Travel Refund policy. Parents must purchase the policy for minors.

Though we completely respect the importance of health insurance, these plans are NOT health insurance.

Both Camp Refund and Travel Refund provide a comprehensive package of benefits designed to protect campers and travelers from cancellations, interruptions, delays, lost baggage, medical emergencies and much more.
